[edit] Optimal Equipment
Plague Toads are immune to both poison and disease, so try not to use weapons that damage in that fashion, and don't bother poisoning or diseasing any weapon you're using. Also note that they do nature damage, instead of the standard melee damages, so equip for resistances appropriately.
[edit] Hunting Strategies
Be careful when fighting Plague Toads, because they can disease you. To counter this, bring along some bloodroot or blood bandages in order to cure. In a pinch, one of the several cure disease potions would also be a good idea.
