[edit] Chatting

  • "Enter"
opens chat window
  • "Tab"
will scroll you through the available chat modes
  • [Say] - white text and can be heard by anyone on the same screen
  • [Whisper] - grey text and can be heard only by anyone on the tiles immediately surrounding your character
  • [Shout] - blue text and can be heard by people off-screen (considered impolite to use continuously)
  • "Right Click"
"right clicking" on your chat window opens window showing you the chat modes enabled and channels joined in green

[edit] Channels

  • Joining a channel
Right-click the chat window and select "Join...". In the following textbox type the name of the channel . Click check mark.
  • Talking in a channel
Press the ENTER key, and then hit the TAB key until it reads channel name (e.g., "[help]" or any other channel you have joined). You can then talk in that channel.
  • Leaving a channel
Right-click the chat window and select the channel-name. This will make you leave the channel, and the entry will disappear.

[edit] Tells

  • Sending a tell
type /t players name: (e.g.: /t Fluffybunny: Would you care for a carrot with that?)
  • Replying to a tell
type /r players name: (e.g.: /r Farmer Man: I prefer cabbage, thank u!)

NOTE THE COLON FOLLOWING THE PLAYER'S NAME; IT MUST BE THERE FOR TELL TO WORK

  • To reply directly to a tell it is enough to write
type /r text you don't have to add the name to reply directly.

[edit] Party

When you are partied, tabbing while on the chat line should eventually enable you to chat with other party members. You can also make sure that party chat is enabled in a window by right-clicking that window. If Party is highlighted green, then party chat is on.
