This is the Book 4 quest as documented by Apache on Legends Server, assisted by Chris the Hulk, Jane Fox, Saveena, and Tigs. (Names in Alphabetical Order) March, 2005

Book FOUR (Reward 60,000 exp pool) begins with:

The quest starts in a lighted, underground, passageway that leads to Holendar's, the Guildmaster, north of Varg. But to get to this beginning, from the city of Varg, go east to the coast and follow it a distance north. Southwest of the cemetery is a squarish valley. In the northwest corner of this valley is a trap door. (Sextant reading - 875,1063) Enter this trap door.

The underground passageway is not a great threat. Once down in it, go west and you will come to a large square room, take the north hallway, and follow it all the way up until it turns west, then north, west, south, and west, which goes to a smaller room with a ladder in it. Take the ladder up. At this point get out of attack mode so you don't accidently attack anyone in this area. In the large room you will find Malmondrik and some guards. Speak to Malmondrik by clicking on him.

The conversation with Malmondrik:

Malmondrik: So you return from over the sea. And you have read the third book! Well done! You surely are on your way to becoming a fine leader.

-Continue-

Malmondrik: Your final task is to find “The Book of Talazar”. Within the pages of this forbidden book are secrets that unlock the most feared evil of the land!

-Continue-

Malmondrik: Travel to Koreth, the new liberated city of south of Lotor’s castle. There you will unlock the secrets to the location of the Book of Talazar.

-Continue-

You are finished here. Journey to New Koreth and as you look around, talking to the towns people, you run into a Jester on the east side of the city.

The conversation with Fritz:

Fritz: Icky Bicky Ticky LooooO!

-Continue-

Fritz: You have wandered into the wrong place?

  • -No, I seek the great Fritz. -
  • -Yes, goodbye! -
  • -Are you in need of medical attention? You are acting peculiar…. -

Player: No, I seek the great Fritz.

Fritz: So we are on the same quest. Do you mind if I join your search.

Fritz: HAHA, that is my best joke! Have you been looking long?

-Continue-

Fritz: If my head is round, when does the moon fall?

-Continue-

Fritz: I wanted to start the Guild KSTR for Jesters.

-Continue-

Fritz: Very confusing.

Fritz: Do you like my hat?

-Continue-

Fritz: Can I climb that tree?

-Continue-

Fritz: I am lost.

  • -Are you feeling well? You seem ill? -
  • -You never got the guild started? -
  • -I will return with help for you. -

Player: You never got the guild started?

Fritz: I used to hunt in Hell, but one moon I found this passage. Lost and confused. I spent over 20 moons in there. It was too baffling. I know only one thing, I was lucky to escape.

-Continue-

Fritz: Do you like my hat?

-Continue-

Fritz: Do you like to dance? A man who has seen the Book of Talazar has a nice dance for you .

-Continue-

Fritz: When can I search mine?

-Continue-

Fritz: Stand next to me you look taller than I do.

-Continue-

Fritz: Too confusing.

Fritz: Blue.

-Continue-

Fritz: I am lost.

  • -Are you feeling well? You seem ill? -
  • -You never got the guild started? -
  • -I will return with help for you.-

Player: Are you feeling well? You seem ill?

Fritz: Icky Bicky Ticky LooooO

-Continue-

Fritz: I am so close…. E equal to m times c cubed….

-Continue-

Fritz: I am lost.

  • -Are you feeling well? You seem ill?-
  • -You never got the guild started?-
  • -I will return with help for you. -

Player: I will return with help for you.

Fritz: And put some extra sauce on there, too! Mmmmm, I have not had one of those for many moons….

-Continue-

You are finished here as Fritz will continue to just run you in circles, but you have clues of his wanting to form a guild, his hunting in Hell, and his mentioning the Book of Talazar.

--- NOW...AFTER THIS BOOK WAS COMPLETED, it was brought to our attention that if you go to Lotor's Castle (Lotor's is mentioned in Malmondrik's directions to New Koreth) and find Denexad in one of the cells, that talking to him he does say (in your main chat window)

"Since I've been in here for quite a while... I made up a little dance, I know you will like it! Now, watch me! WAIT! WAIT! DARN! I cannot remember it, come back later."

He then does a series of movements that at this point make no sense to rhyme or reason of the pattern required for working your way though the Teleport Maze in Baylor's Den, which we were told he's supposed to do, though we clicked on him for an hour trying to find anything similar. Might be that IF we'd found him prior to going to Hell, he'd do a different 'dance pattern'. This will have to be clarified at another time. ---

Now go to Hell. From New Korelth, head sorta directly south to the coast. There is a large peninsula with some pretty hefty monsters roaming it as you get further down. At the very end of the peninsula is some colums around a teleporter. Go through, and you’ll be in hell, which is Talazar’s Island. Either be naked and try run it or try bowing it with several friends.

Once on Talazar's Island, head south until you see a structure, then go east a short way until you see a small break in the mountains at the south, go though it then head west and finally due north until you find a small cove with the entrance to a mine. Follow the cave, with no monsters inside it thank goodness, until you find your way to the Den of Baylor, where the Hellspawn NPC Baylor stands. Speak with Baylor,

The conversation with Baylor:

Baylor: I know why you are here. You seek the Book of Talazar. Only a person on the correct path will find the corridor that contains the writing of our great leader.

-Continue-

Baylor: Many warriors that have accepted the challenge have never caught a glimpse of daylight again. Do you consider yourself worthy of such a task? If not, speak now because your life depends on it.

  • -Yes, I deem myself worthy of such an undertaking. -
  • -No, I will return when I feel I am ready. -

Player: Yes, I deem myself worthy of such an undertaking.-

Baylor Even though you look too small and weak to accomplish this journey, I will let you proceed. If you do not complete the quest, your bones will rot with the rest of them….

-Continue-

Baylor: Your swiftness and agility count, so go now, because you have a limited amount of time to find and READ the book. If you are not successful, your life will be in my hands….

-Continue-

Baylor now teleports you to a room shaped like a cross with teleporters in the north, south, east, and west wings. Once inside, you’ll have to navigate the teleporter maze. Do so by going to the EAST teleporter, then the SOUTH, then NORTH, then WEST, then NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, and finally the NORTH one. Then you'll be standing at the south end of a long hall, go north to see the book. Read it.
